I have some symptoms described in other threads - very sore large muscles in both legs and pretty severe knee pain - and wonder if the sudden onset of these symptoms could be because of a temporary iron overload. For 3 days I drank a green drink made of spinach only - a lot of it and, as you probably know, when you drink your greens you get about 40 times the nutrients you would get if you ate them. Is it possible that these severe symptoms could result in just too much spinach over a short period of time?

The iron in spinach and the other greens is of a different molecular structure and is hard for the system to absorb. There might be a very slight chance but it would be slight.
I can't remember the formula I was given but you would most likely absorb more iron from a liver and onion diner than from your tea.

This is one of the main reasons for maintaining a balanced diet and not going to the extreme of cutting out all red meat and dark green vegetables. You will do yourself more harm than good.

Thank you for the response. If it makes any difference, this green drink contained a couple of handfuls of spinach in a blender. The cellulose is quite broken down giving the body more access to available nutrients. I guess it really doesnt matter since I quit doing the drink and am experiencing some relief.
