Seeking: Board Treasurer

The Canadian Hemochromatosis Society is a national organization with a mission to strengthen the well-being of Canadians affected by iron overload through its programs designed to foster awareness and early detection of hemochromatosis. Its vision is to see an end to premature death and suffering related to hemochromatosis.
The Canadian Hemochromatosis Society is seeking a dedicated individual residing in BC to fill the role of Treasurer on its volunteer Board of Directors. The individual will fill a current vacancy and will stand for election onto the board at the AGM in October, after which the 2-year term will begin, renewable once.
The Treasurer must manage the financial resources of the Canadian Hemochromatosis Society so that it meets present and future needs. Learn more about the work of the Canadian Hemochromatosis Society at toomuchiron.ca.
Treasurer Duties & Responsibilities
• Budgeting
• Oversight of accounting, financial statements, annual reporting, income tax filing and statutory remittances
• Reporting and analysis
• Developing and monitoring financial policy
• Managing cash flow
• Transactions and internal controls
• Supports managing grants and contracts
• Risk management
• Strategic planning
