Maritime Hemochromatosis Information Session 2019

This annual information session is presented in coordination with a genetic counsellor from the Maritime Medical Genetics Service, a hematologist and a hepatology nurse. The session is held at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax and broadcasted to other hospitals through the Telehealth Network, serving the Maritime provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. At the session there is a presentation about the genetics of hereditary hemochromatosis, symptoms, treatment, management, risk to family members, what the genetic results mean, and an opportunity for questions.
