Ottawa Chapter Hereditary Hemochromatosis Information Session

June 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Extreme fatigue, aching joints, arthritis in the hands and changing skin colour. These are just a few of the symptoms related to Hereditary Hemochromatosis.

Hereditary Hemochromatosis is a genetic, metabolic disorder that causes the body to absorb and retain too much dietary iron. It is potentially fatal, but easily treated if diagnosed early, before the excess iron causes irreversible damage.

This awareness session will discuss symptoms, genetics and treatment for Hereditary Hemochromatosis.
